Damian Woodford was born in Beverley, East Yorkshire and graduated from Lancaster University with a degree in English Literature and Art and Design. He has exhibited his work professionally since completing a Master of Arts in Painting at York University in 2000.

Woodford’s career as an arts officer has included managing community art projects, exhibition spaces and craft workshops. He has invaluable experience working for Crescent Arts and Henshaws Arts and Crafts Centre where he garnered partnerships with community groups, arts organisations and local businesses through the promotion of art therapy, exhibitions and artist workshops.

In 2008 Woodford relocated to London working for Coin Street Community Builders, a social enterprise in the heart of the South Bank and established a painting studio in Hackney. In 2015 he moved to his studio in Wandsworth, taking residence at Wimbledon Art Studios.

He is co-founder of the art collective, The Wimbledon Group, which established a pop-up gallery in Wimbledon’s town centre and shows at the Affordable Art Fair with the Graham Hunter Gallery.

His achievements include exhibiting at the Agora Gallery, in New York, working with the British Red Cross on their fundraising initiative Art for Humanity, being included in the Paintings in Hospitals public art collection and being shortlisted for the Higgins Homes Public Art Award.
